Hoofbeats

Two standardbred pacers race each other in the late afternoon light. Their hooves dance in a complex rhythm, each one pulling individual sulky carts over the hard-packed track.

Both drivers watch their horses carefully, signaling whips at the ready, prepared at any moment to direct their horses left or right – attempting to either keep the lead, or take it at the first opportunity.
