Save A Forgotten Equine

The planning committee for HeART of the HORSE 2010, benefit art auction for S.A.F.E. (Save A Forgotten Equine) have asked me if I would donate some artwork for their auction.   Well, I surely will – this is a great organization – see here: www.safehorses.org.  The auction will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010,… read more

Yet More Doodles!

You can have a sneak preview here: http://www.surreyhospice.com/new/gallery/DoYouDoodle/index.html of the doodle art donated so far. There are submissions from your favorite personalities, musicians, sport celebrities, local politicians and, of course, me.

More Doodle

Here are my three submissions to the Surrey Hospice Society “Do You Doodle” fundraising auction, September 23, 2010.   It was fun doing these. Small, quick, no pressure – maybe doodling more often would be a good thing. I hope my contribution can raise some funds for this worthy organization.

Do You Doodle?

I’m going to doodle to help benefit the Surrey Hospice Society. They need oodles of doodles for their fall fundraising auction. They sent me three blank cards and a lovely permanent marker with which to freely express myself for a great cause. Doodle ideas are already zooming around in my head.   Surrey Hospice Society… read more

The annual  Cloverdale Blueberry Festival will be held this year on August 14 and 15th and I will be participating in the Art Walk once again. Artists can bring 3 pieces of their art for judging. Equine Art 2010, Auburn, Washington

What a great show this was – and I’m happy to report that my entry “Overdrive” sold! This show is presented by the Washington Thoroughbred Foundation in conjunction with the Washington Thoroughbred Breeders & Owners Association, and Emerald Downs.  The people involved in the organization are wonderful – they give encouragement so freely and they… read more

They’re Finished!

Finished, framed, paperwork done – at last! All that remains is to crate them up, take them across the border to Blaine, Washington, and have them shipped down to Emerald Downs, Auburn, Washington, for Equine Art 2010. I’m referring to “Punch Back” and “Overdrive”.   This is a wonderful show – presented by the Washington… read more

A Sneak Peek!

May 29, 2010 – I started this one last night and am happy with the progress so far. This will be shown at Equine Art 2010, Emerald Downs, Auburn, Washington, from July 8 to 11, 2010. The canvas is largish – 24×36 – and painting it in acrylics. Obviously, the right foreleg needs some adjustment… read more

May 27, 2010

Well, the pastel racehorse drawing wasn’t coming along to my liking, so I trashed it. Started an acrylic, then wondered how pastel would work on canvas with the acrylic. Interesting experiment but now I don’t like this half-finished painting. Off to the art shop today because I’ve run out of canvas and, if I keep… read more

Time to get to work

Almost the end of May – and I have two paintings to create and ship to Equine Art 2010, Auburn, Washington, by July 1st. Started one yesterday, a pastel, and it’s going fairly fast….unless I muck it up and decide it is truly dreadful. My second entry will be an acrylic. This is a great… read more
